Sony Pictures set to bring ‘Shaktimaan’ on the big screen

‘Shaktimaan’ is an Indian superhero tv show that used to air on “DD National”. Shaktimaan was the first-ever Indian superhero that gained immense popularity amongst the 90’s kids. The show was produced by Mukesh Khanna. The role of the center character “Shaktiman” and his alter ego “Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastriji”, a photographer of the newspaper “Aaj Ki Aawaz” was played by Mukesh Khanna.

Sony Pictures International Productions is set to bring our very own Indian Super Hero ‘Shaktimaan’ to the big screen. Sony will recreate the magic of the iconic superhero, to be headlined by one of India’s superstars. Sony Pictures uploaded a teaser of the new and improved outfit of “Shaktiman” on their Instagram page and as well as on their Youtube channel.

Sony Pictures announced that they partnered with Brewing Thoughts Private Limited and Mukesh Khanna’s Bheeshm International to produce the movie: “Shaktiman”. The teaser shows, Gangadhar’s iconic spectacles, camera, and ID & Shaktiman’s new modernised outfit. Sony Pictures didn’t share the release date for the movie and didn’t announce the cast and director of the movie yet.

Taran Adarsh tweeted that Sony Pictures acquired the “Film Adaptation Rights” of the popular superhero show “Shaktiman”. He also added that the movie will be directed by a top director and one of the big superstars will play the main character “Shaktiman”. He mentioned that the movie will be a trilogy.
