Bollywood actress Poonam Pandey has passed away from cervical cancer, her PR team confirmed to Zee News. Pandey, aged 32, was in her hometown of Kanpur when she died. “We are deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Details about her funeral are awaited,” said the PR team. They also described her as someone who showed pure love and kindness to everyone she met.

Poonam Pandey’s Career Highlights

Pandey gained fame for her role in the 2013 movie “Nasha,” where she played a teacher involved in a romantic relationship with a student. She received praise for her performance, with Rediff appreciating her seductive portrayal and Mumbai Mirror noting her genuine and conscientious approach to the role. While some critics suggested there was room for improvement, her performance was generally well-received.

Pandey’s most recent appearance was on the reality show “Lock Upp,” hosted by Kangana Ranaut. Though she didn’t win the show, her participation helped her gain more fans. The show’s first season was won by stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui.

Poonam Pandey’s Personal Life and Marriage

Pandey’s personal life made headlines when she married Sam Bombay in a surprise ceremony. The couple shared their life on social media, but their marriage ended abruptly in 2020 after Pandey accused Bombay of domestic violence.

During her time on the show, Pandey spoke about facing domestic violence. She revealed that her estranged husband had beaten her severely, causing a brain haemorrhage. Pandey and Bombay got married in 2020, but she filed a complaint against him, alleging molestation, threats, and assault. The incident occurred while she was shooting a film in Canacona village, south Goa, where Bombay was later arrested.

Sam Bombay, originally from Dubai, is an ad filmmaker and producer. Pandey’s passing has shocked the industry. Known for her bold photos and videos, she made her acting debut in the 2013 film “Nasha” and also appeared on Kangana Ranaut’s reality show “Lock Upp.”
