Aamir Khan talked openly about his divorce with Kiran Rao at a recent event and shared that he once asked her for some advice.
Actor Aamir Khan and producer Kiran Rao attended an event together on Friday. They discussed everything from her new film Laapataa Ladies to their recent divorce. They got married in 2005 and separated in 2021. Despite this, they are still good friends and co-parent their son Azad while also working together.
At the ABP Network’s Ideas of India Summit, Aamir talked about their divorce. He shared how he once asked Kiran for feedback on how he could be a better husband in the future. He said, “One evening, I asked Kiran, what do you think I lacked as a husband. What can I improve on going forward?”
Kiran had some points ready to share. She said, “Yes, write it down (laughs). I was made to take down all the complaints in points. ‘You talk a lot, you don’t let anyone else talk and keep harping on your own point. I was given about 15-20 pointers).’” Kiran added, “I mean you asked…”
Fans of the actor appreciated his self-awareness. Some commented on Instagram, “Don’t be so mature!” and “Should’ve done this before your divorce.” Another person liked Aamir’s open attitude, saying, “I like how mature and open he is about this stuff. Impressive. A rare sight.”
Laapataa Ladies will be released in theatres next week. Aamir’s last movie was Laal Singh Chaddha, and he has not announced his next project yet.
